Outside of that, everything should work as it does on Microsoft's platforms. This also means owning an Xbox One or Windows Store copy won't net you a free copy on Steam. Owning a copy of Gears 5 on Steam does not mean you own it on Xbox One, or the Windows Store. This ensures all your progress is synced between versions, though you obviously do not need Gold to play online.
